Orion on Change

Change is in the wind. Change is on the ground. Change rises up. Change crashes in. Change erupts. Change sneaks up. Change is beautiful and delightful. Change is powerful and disruptive. Change overwhelms and leaves you feeling weakened. Change rushes in and you meet it and it leaves you feeling strengthened.  Change happens when least expected. Change happens through your intent.  Change asks you to pause, breathe, and find what you need do next.

Change is the natural current of life; and in that, most importantly, we have to hold our recognition of that salient fact.  We have to find our way through each iteration; those we set in motion and those that happen to us – by nature, by occurrence, by sweeps of political and social change.  By conflicts, by deception, by personal actions of others, by the vastness and randomness that is also part of life. Change happens and so often, it is not given to you to prevent it or be the direct change-agent once it has occurred.

The truest choice, and mainly, the only choice we get when change impacts us is what we do with it and in the face of it. And being with choice is often not a total resolution or direct action.  It may be a journey, a buffeting, like the winds, of myriad emotions and ideas before we find the first knowing that anchors action.  From this place, other actions and steps may emerge. And eventually, we find we have moved with a change; moved on from the first impact of change and then more into an integration of the impact of the change in our life.  We start with our personal responses and actions and that can then find us emerged into a larger community or even global new place from change.

As much as we would like to be able to predict change, to understand it, to give it over-arching meanings, to be given further understandings, one also has to face the randomness of life.  This is uncomfortable for many, but rather than diminishing your control of life, by acknowledging this, you give yourself inner permission to focus on what has actually occurred and proceed from there.  The forces that move Life, the Mundane and the Vastness are so complex and mutable and carry within them movements and influences we really cannot fully comprehend.

Our logical minds crave for explanations and meaning and they can be a comfort; but again, the dance of life is a complexity that is in many aspects, unfathomable.  If we can stand in that place of  ‘not knowing fully’; if we can feel beyond the whys of a change; beyond denial of change; if we can, again, be in and with the change; then we will more readily find our next step.  We do not have to fully understand to find new action and sense in life.

Again, we begin with ourselves, our personal lives, and take steps from there.  Our personal actions can grow to meet other personal actions and we can support each other in recovery, rebalancing, in creating anew.  We can allow ourselves to move through all the feelings that - arise, fear, anger, frustration, sadness, mourning, weariness – let them flow out so they can come into transformation themselves.

We are not asked to control Life; it is not given to you. But in letting that idealization be permeable, in accepting we are part of something we don’t fully know, you will find that the next step, a direct action you can take, a choice you can make,  will come present to you and you will be aligned with it and you will step into movement

We are participating in Life. We are dancing with Vastness. We are notes in the Symphony of Life.  We are partners with the Unfathomable and yet, we Know. We hold the awareness of Unity in Being; even as, perhaps especially when, the recognition of Unity and interconnectedness seems unseen and denied. You know it, and in that, you are holding it for others.

You are holding Unity in your hands. In your hearts. In your Essence. This is the spiritual awareness that you carry, even when you feel alone with this knowing. Thank  you for holding the true essence of change and being with it – Unity - still to be recognized and discovery by so many. We thank you for being you.
